Manitoba Hydro has released its third annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report that details the Crown Corporation’s progress delivering electricity and natural gas safely, reliably, sustainably and with care.
“We know that every Manitoban has an interest in the activities and actions we undertake as the province’s largest energy supplier,” said Scott Powell, Manitoba Hydro’s Director of Corporate Communications. “Our goal is to lead as an environmental steward, a progressive and fair employer, and an active contributor to our province’s social fabric and economic growth.
“This year’s report once again features the many varied contributions our employees have made to deliver on that goal. As Manitobans serving Manitobans, each employee has a vested interest in how the work we do contributes to our province every day, now and into the future. Our ESG report demonstrates our transparency and commitment to ethical and environmental responsibilities.”
Covering fiscal year April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024, Manitoba Hydro’s ESG report shares year-over-year progress and statistics on the organization’s ESG efforts. The report also highlights what makes Manitoba Hydro a top employer and the benefits and employee experience offered as one of the province’s largest employers.
The ESG reporting model is currently the standard used by other utilities, the energy industry and other organizations globally.
