On June 13, 2017, at approximately 10am, Carman RCMP received a report of a vehicle that drove into the side of a commercial building in Carman, Manitoba.

Police say that an 86-year-old male driver was backing up while attempting to avoid a closely parked vehicle beside him. The driver then stepped on the accelerator rather than the brake while reversing and inadvertently put the vehicle in drive. As a result, the vehicle lunged forward, colliding with the building.

RCMP report that the driver and his 80-year-old female passenger, both from Elm Creek, were not injured in this incident. As well, there were no reported injuries to individuals inside the business.
