The City of Steinbach has announced that the new Southeast Event Centre, currently under construction, is expected to open in early 2025. The building is located at 321 Elmdale Street.
Officials say that a substantial amount of construction has been completed on the project, and work is being done to ready the building for occupancy at the start of the new year. Additional time will be required at the beginning of occupancy to properly assess and prepare the new event centre for public use.
The City is working diligently with contractors to ensure that the project is completed to the highest standard. As construction progresses, development and updates will continue to be shared by the City of Steinbach and Southeast Events Group, a fundraising partner and operator of the new facility.
Ground broke on the new event centre in downtown Steinbach in January of 2023. With a capacity of up to 4,000 people, a gym-hall, a state-of-the-art ice surface, a family fun zone, a walking track, and more, the venue is designed to host a variety of sporting events, trade shows, ceremonies, and concerts, in addition to the community’s daily recreational activities.
