Oakbank RCMP are reporting that a 32-year-old Winnipeg man has died as the result of a recent vehicle collision that occurred in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.
On December 31, 2024, at approximately 6:35pm, Oakbank RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 1 and Settlers Road in the RM of Springfield.
Police investigation determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 32-year-old male from Winnipeg, was traveling north on Settlers Road when it entered the westbound lane of Highway 1 and was subsequently struck by a westbound SUV.
RCMP report that the male driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the SUV, an 18-year-old female from the RM of La Broquerie, suffered minor physical injuries as a result of the collision.
Oakbank RCMP, along with a forensic collision reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
