On June 16, 2017, at approximately 11:45am, Brandon RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10, approximately one kilometre north of Provincial Road 353.
Initial police investigation showed that a southbound minivan crossed the center line colliding with the side of a northbound semi-trailer.
Police say that the 55-year-old female driver of the minivan was pronounced deceased on scene and a male passenger received non-life threatening injuries. Both occupants were from Rivers, Manitoba. The male driver of the semi was uninjured in the collision.
RCMP report that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision and it appears everyone was wearing seatbelts. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
