Dauphin RCMP are reporting that an 18-year-old male suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to multiple break-in incidents that occurred within the community.
On February 17, 2025, at approximately 3:15am, Dauphin RCMP were called to a residence located on 3rd Avenue SW for a report of a break and enter. Officers responded immediately and spoke to the homeowner who advised them that someone had entered the residence and stolen money from one of the rooms. There were two occupants in the residence at the time, and the suspect fled after being scared off.
Police say that no persons were injured as a result the incident.
Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) responded to the scene (RPAS) to search for the suspect. While searching, members were notified other officers had a male suspect in custody that matched the description given by the homeowner.
As a result of investigation, police believe that the same suspect is responsible for at least five break and enters in the south end of Dauphin, possibly more.
RCMP report that 18-year-old Jayson Dumas, of Dauphin, has been remanded in custody and is being charged with 11 offences related to breaking and entering.
