Two individuals are facing impaired driving charges after recently being arrested by Dauphin RCMP in response to a two vehicle collision near Dauphin, Manitoba.

On August 17, 2016, just before 8pm, Dauphin RCMP received a report of a two vehicle collision west of Dauphin on Highway 5, approximately one mile east of Highway 10.

Police investigation revealed that a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, while attempting a U-turn, collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, causing it to go into the ditch. As emergency personnel were approaching the scene, the driver of the Oldsmobile fled on foot into some nearby bush. At the same time, a female passenger in the car got behind the steering wheel of the car and drove away, going about 500 meters before running off the road.

RCMP report that the male was located after a brief search and was arrested for impaired driving. The female was also arrested for impaired driving and both individuals remain in custody. No one was seriously injured in this incident.
