On September 2, 2017, at approximately 2:50am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a male lying in the eastbound lane on Highway 1, approximately six kilometres east of Richer, Manitoba.
Police say that a 47-year-old Winnipeg man was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this point, RCMP are unsure of how the man died.
“There are some questions surrounding the death of this individual that investigators are actively trying to answer,” said Tara Seel of the Manitoba RCMP. “We are asking anyone who may have been in the area that morning and may have seen a male walking near or on the highway to contact the Steinbach RCMP.”
