Two youth are facing numerous firearms and theft-related charges after recently being arrested by Portage la Prairie RCMP.

On September 12, 2017, at approximately 4:50pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP located a stolen vehicle on Spruce Bay. Police believed that the vehicle in question had been involved in numerous vandalism incidents in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Officers then pulled over the vehicle with two male occupants inside. The driver fled on foot and the passenger was arrested at the scene.

Police Service dog “Ozzy” was called in and tracked the suspect to a garage located further away on Spruce Bay where he was arrested without incident.

RCMP report that two male youths, ages 16 and 15, were arrested and are currently in police custody. Both youth are facing a total of 60 charges combined, including multiple firearms offenses, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with conditions.
