Between September 14 and 19, 2017, Carman RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle as well as reports of numerous other vehicles that were rummaged through with personal items taken.

Police say that items taken from the vehicles included credit cards, ID cards, sunglasses, garage door openers, and cash. It was reported that the stolen vehicle and the vehicles entered were left unlocked with many having their keys still inside.

“These are crimes of opportunity as thieves will always look for the easiest target,” said Sgt. Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP. “We need to remind motorists to always remove valuables from their vehicles, to never leave any type of identification behind and to lock the doors.”
