On September 30, 2017, at approximately 3:05pm, officers from the Oakbank RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Garven Road, approximately two kilometres west of Highway 12 in the RM of Springfield.
Police investigators believe that an SUV, being driven by a 52-year-old Winnipeg man, was traveling west on Garven Road when he lost control of his vehicle, drove into the ditch and rolled.
Police say that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP report that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision. Oakbank RCMP Detachment, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
