Steinbach Pistons’ captain Braden Purtill put on a goal-scoring exhibition last week, earning him the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week award.
Purtill, 20, scored four goals in a win against OCN on Sunday, upping his total to six in three games for the Pistons, who are 4-1 after five games. The 6-foot, 190-pound Winnipegger has a season total of eight goals after five games.
The runners-up are 19-year-old forward Nathan Halvorsen of the Selkirk Steelers and 19-year-old forward Chase Brakel of the Portage Terriers.
