A 14-year-old girl has died after she recently fell into a water holding tank on a farmyard located in the RM of Whitehead, Manitoba.
On October 15, 2017, at approximately 3:15pm, Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a child in a water holding tank in the RM of Whitehead, Manitoba. When police arrived on scene, the child was being removed from the water tank by the fire department. Police say that the 14-year-old girl was transported to local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigation determined that the victim was walking in a farmyard, with supervision, when she stepped on the lid of the water holding tank, knocking it off and falling in. RCMP report that there was water at the bottom of the tank, approximately 20 feet down.
RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
