An elderly Stuartburn woman has died after rolling her vehicle into a ditch at a location near Vita, Manitoba.
On October 21, at 1:50pm, Morris and Emerson RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Road 38E, approximately three kilometres south of Highway 201, just west of Vita, Manitoba. Upon arrival, officers located a Ford pickup truck in the ditch.
Initial police investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle, an 88-year-old woman from the RM of Stuartburn, was traveling south on a gravel road when she lost control and rolled the vehicle. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and consequently pronounced deceased on scene.
RCMP believe that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors in this incident.
