On November 24, 2017, at approximately 11:55 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Tupper Street and Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Police say that a 70-year-old female pedestrian was crossing on a green light on Saskatchewan Avenue heading northbound on Tupper Street. She then was struck by a southbound vehicle on Tupper Street attempting to turn left (heading eastbound) on Saskatchewan Avenue.
RCMP report that the pedestrian was rushed to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released from hospital. The 17-year-old female driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Police continue to investigate this incident and charges are pending.
