The City of Steinbach has announced that new decorative elements are being added to light standards along two blocks of Steinbach’s Main Street this week. The new banners will provide visual interest and are distinctive to the downtown area.
City Council requested a total of 22 metal banners be hung on the decorative light standards between Lumber Avenue and Friesen Avenue. The banners will alternately display a yellow sheaf of wheat and a red gear, both elements of the City’s logo. A symbol of community pride, the Main Street banners are the same style as the ones at the new Community Plaza in front of the T.G. Smith Centre.
The City notes that installation of all the banners is expected to be completed by end of this week. Total cost for the project is about $23,000.
