On September 1, 2016, at approximately 5am, Portage la Prairie RCMP were called to the Southport Airport and Commercial Properties building on Centenaire Drive where a pickup truck had driven through the front of a building.
Initial police investigation indicated that the driver of the pickup truck, a GMC Sierra, was traveling south on Centenaire when he lost control of the truck. The truck then smashed through the front of the building, through the front desk area and stopped in an office.
RCMP report that a 26-year-old Portage man has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure to remain.
