Quartetto Gelato, a contemporary-classical ensemble will be performing at the SRSS Theatre in Steinbach on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
The dynamic foursome of Quartetto Gelato will be performing Virtuosic showpieces, romantic tenor arias, pyrotechnical solos and blazing gypsy show pieces. The group consists of Peter De Sotto (violin), Alexander Sevastian (accordion), Colin Maier (oboe) and Greg Gallagher on cello who is replacing Elizabeth McLellan.
Quartetto Gelato’s international career was launched when they won the coveted title of NPR Performance Today’s “Debut Artist of the Year”. In 2007, the group’s first DVD “Quartetto Gelato: A Concert in Wine Country!” was picked up by PBS throughout the U.S. and is still broadcast regularly. They can be heard on the soundtrack of the Hollywood film “Only You”, as well as on Ashley MacIsaac’s hit CD “Hi How are You Today?” Recently, QG was honored Best Classical Ensemble at Canada’s 2010 INDIE awards.
