A 47-year-old Thompson man has died after his pickup truck collided with a semi at an intersection south of Carman, Manitoba.
On January 28, 2018, at approximately 5pm, Carman RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at Road 32 North and Road 28 West in the RM of Dufferin, Manitoba. The collision occurred just south of Carman.
Initial police investigation determined that a semi trailer and a pickup truck collided at an uncontrolled intersection. The driver of the pickup truck, a 47-year-old male, was deceased at the scene. A 15-year-old female passenger in the pickup truck was transported to hospital with serious injuries and is now stable. Another passenger in the pickup truck, a 16-year-old female, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All of the occupants of the pickup truck are from the RM of Thompson. The 35-year-old driver of the semi from the RM of Portage la Prairie was uninjured.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in this collision. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
