A 21-year-old driver from the Steinbach area has been dealt a very large fine for driving 66 km/h over the posted speed limit.
Police sat that on February 26, 2018, at approximately 8:30pm, officers were patrolling on Road 32 North, otherwise known as Ridge Road, when they stopped a vehicle traveling 156 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.
RCMP report that the 21-year-old driver from the Steinbach area had indicated that he was in a rush to get home. As a result of the excessive speeding, the driver was issued a traffic offence notice with a fine of $914. He was also served a Serious Offence Notice which is notice of intention to suspend or cancel his drivers licence.
