A 43-year-old Swan River man has died after the snowmobile he was riding collided with a tree on a trail near Swan River, Manitoba.
On March 17, 2018, at 2:25am, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of a snowmobile collision that occurred approximately six kilometres southeast of Swan River.
Police say that a 43-year-old Swan River man was traveling with a small group when it appears he lost control of his snowmobile and veered off the trail colliding with a tree. The rider was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that the deceased was wearing a helmet and police believe that speed and alcohol are factors in this incident.
