Poplar River RCMP have made an arrest after seizing a quantity of cocaine from a woman at the local airport.
On April 26, 2018, Poplar River RCMP attended the Poplar River Airport to meet a flight coming in from Winnipeg. Officers had been investigating drugs coming into the community, and the investigation led them to a female who was inbound to the community.
Police say that the female was met at the baggage claim area. Kayla Berens, 29, admitted to having illegal drugs on her person and was placed under arrest. Police searched Berens and seized two packages containing a total of 46 grams cocaine.
RCMP report that Berens is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking as a result of this incident.
