The City of Steinbach has announced its next Oil Recycling Day, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 9am to 5pm at the Steinbach Landfill.
The City invites residents to bring used oil to the Eco Centre at the Steinbach Landfill, located at 104 Hanover Road East, and receive new oil for free in exchange. The program offers a coupon for one litre of Co-op 5W-30 Sonic Silver Motor (max. five coupons per vehicle) in exchange for every four litres of used oil (max. 205 litres per vehicle). City staff says that the public can also enjoy a hot dog and drink for $2 from 11am-2pm.
The City notes that used oil, oil filters and plastic oil containers need to be disposed of properly so they can be recycled into useful products instead of threatening the environment. Used oil and tires can also be recycled year round at the Steinbach Landfill’s Eco Centre.
