Manitoba Infrastructure has announced details of a series of open house sessions, including Steinbach on June 12, as part of the comprehensive review of its service delivery model.

“The open house sessions are part of our consultations with industry, municipalities, Indigenous communities, other jurisdictions and the public,” said Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler. “Discussions will help shape what Manitoba Infrastructure’s role going forward on projects such as roads, bridges and flood fighting and a new direction as we move forward to improve our infrastructure.”

The sessions will provide members of the public with an opportunity to learn more and speak with department representatives about the review. All open house sessions run from 4 to 8 p.m. and will be held in the following communities:

  • Steinbach – Tuesday, June 12 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 294 Lumber Ave.;
  • Winnipeg – Wednesday, June 13 at the Viscount Gort Hotel, 1670 Portage Ave.;
  • Portage la Prairie – Tuesday, June 19 at the Canad Inns, 2401 Saskatchewan Ave., W;
  • Brandon – Thursday, June 21 at the Victoria Inn, 3550 Victoria Ave.;
  • Thompson – Monday, June 25 at the University College of the North, 55 UCN Dr.; and
  • Dauphin – Tuesday, July 3 at the Recreation Services, 200 First St., SE.

The minister noted this review supports the government’s continued work as part of the plan for a public service transformation to deliver better outcomes for Manitobans, ensuring government spends smarter, streamlining service delivery, developing a long-term capital plan to get more value from plans to renew and build strategic infrastructure, and modernizing the way government buys goods and services.
