On September 19, 2016, just before 3:30pm, Falcon Beach RCMP were dispatched to a train derailment incident that occurred in Hadashville, Manitoba.
Police investigation shows that a gravel truck was heading north on Highway 11 when it collided with an eastbound train in Hadashville, Manitoba. The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 25-year-old male from Hadashville, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The two train operators were released with minor injuries at the scene.
Police note that all traffic control equipment at the crossing was working at the time of the collision. There is no traffic control arm at this crossing and the tracks were heavily damaged during the incident.
RCMP report that the driver of the truck has been charged with failing to stop at a railway crossing.
