A 25-year-old Winnipeg woman recently suffered a number of injuries after she lost control of her ATV at a location on the outskirts of Steinbach, Manitoba.
On August 10, 2018 at approximately 8:45pm, Steinbach RCMP received report of a single ATV accident on the gravel portion of Loewen Boulevard in Steinbach. Police say that the ATV was being driven by a 25-year-old Winnipeg woman with a 26-year-old male passenger from Steinbach. Neither were wearing helmets.
Police believe that due to the female driver’s inexperience, control of the ATV was lost while trying to avoid pedestrians. As a result, the driver suffered broken arms while the passenger did not appear to have any injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this incident and that the ATV had been reported stolen back in 2017.
Police continue to investigate this incident.
