Portage la Prairie RCMP recently seized a quantity of drugs and recovered numerous items of stolen property as a result of a traffic stop.
On August 16, 2018, at 12:20am, officers from the Portage la Prairie RCMP conducted a traffic stop on 8th Street NW in Portage la Prairie. The traffic stop led to a search of a vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 26 grams of methamphetamine, several prohibited weapons and various drug paraphernalia.
Police investigation then led to a search warrant being executed on 8th Street NW where officers discovered an extensive list of stolen property, including over 15 bicycles, a motorcycle, various electronics, other weapons and drug related paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP arrested 33-year-old Dexter Roulette from Portage la Prairie, and remanded him into custody on charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime and numerous other Criminal Code charges. Also facing charges are a 49-year-old female from the RM of Dufferin, and a 25-year-old female from the RM of Portage la Prairie.
