A 24-year-old man from Split Lake First Nation has been charged with manslaughter in relation to a homicide investigation being conducted by Thompson RCMP.
On August 30, 2018, at approximately 6:40am, Thompson RCMP were dispatched to an unresponsive injured male near a vacant building on the corner of Public Lane and Cree Road in Thompson, Manitoba. Officers attended and found a 22-year-old male from Split Lake First Nation not breathing with signs of trauma. EMS attended and confirmed the male was deceased.
RCMP report that 24-year-old Bryan Roulette of Split Lake First Nation was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Thompson Provincial Court.
On September 1, 2018, RCMP charged Roulette with manslaughter in relation to the homicide. Police say that the victim and Roulette were known to each other.
Thompson RCMP, RCMP Major Crime Services, North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, and RCMP Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.
