A 31-year-old Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan woman has died after the vehicle she was a passenger in rolled at a location north of Cranberry Portage, Manitoba.

On August 31, at approximately 8:25 am, Cranberry Portage RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Sturgeon Landing Road, 15 km west of Provincial Highway 10.

Initial police investigation has determined that a pick-up truck, carrying three adult female occupants, was driving west on Sturgeon Landing Road when it entered the south ditch and struck a large tree. One passenger, a 31-year-old female, was pronounced deceased on scene and another passenger, a 53-year-old female, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital. The 49-year-old female driver was not injured.

RCMP report that charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm are pending against the 49-year-old female driver.

Police say that the driver and passengers were from Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan.
