At approximately 8:20pm on September 14, 2018, Teulon RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17, approximately six kilometres west of Teulon.
Initial police investigation has determined that an eastbound vehicle, being driven by a 27-year-old man from Inwood, hit the shoulder and overcorrected when it then collided with a westbound vehicle, being driven by a 69-year-old RM of Armstrong man.
Police say that both drivers were transported to hospital where the 69-year-old man was later pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that the 27-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving causing death and remains in hospital at this time with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
It is unknown if seatbelts were in use at the time of the incident and police believe speed was also a factor in the collision.
Teulon RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
