A 30-year-old Morris, Manitoba man has recently been arrested after employees of a local business noticed that he was in possession of a firearm.
On October 30, 2018, at approximately 2:25pm, Morris RCMP received a report stating that a male with a handgun was seen at a business located on Main Street in Morris, Manitoba. Police were contacted and the suspect was asked to wait for an employee to assist him in an office. When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter while occupants of the building safely exited. Officers entered the building and took the man into custody without incident.
Investigation determined that the male suspect had entered the business when employees noticed that he had a handgun in the waistband of his pants. The suspect was behaving erratically and was believed to be intoxicated by drugs. Police noted that the man did not threaten anyone, but the firearm, identified as an Airsoft BB gun, was noticeable.
RCMP report that a 30-year-old Morris, Manitoba man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with an undertaking.
