At approximately 7:50pm on November 16, 2018, Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 59, located north of the Highway 12 junction in the RM of Alexander.

Police believe that a southbound pickup truck, being driven by a 30-year-old male, along with a 31-year-old male passenger, both from the RM of St. Clements, crossed over the centre line and collided with a northbound pickup truck being driven by a 50-year-old male, along with a 39-year-old male and 38-year-old female passenger, all from Selkirk.

RCMP report that the 50-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four other occupants were transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe that alcohol is a factor in the collision. Selkirk RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
