A large amount of drugs and Canadian currency was recently seized by Norway House RCMP as a result of two traffic stops in the community.
On December 27, 2018, just after midnight, Norway House RCMP initiated a traffic stop in the community. As RCMP officers attempted to stop the vehicle, they witnessed the driver throw a bag out of the window. As a result, all three occupants in the vehicle were arrested and a search was conducted.
Police say that the bag was located and contained a large amount of cannabis. Seized, was approximately 3,600 grams of cannabis and a large sum of Canadian currency.
RCMP report that three males, ages 24, 25 and 27, all from Norway House, have charges pending.
On the same day, at approximately 11:30pm, Norway House RCMP initiated another traffic stop in the community. In this incident approximately 935 grams of cocaine was seized. As a result, a 47-year-old female and a 45-year-old male, both from Norway House, were arrested with charges pending.
RCMP remind the public that those who produce and traffic illicit drugs destroy lives, homes, and communities. RCMP members remain fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
