Thanks to a scoring outburst of five points in two games, Steinbach Pistons’ Kyle Bettens has been named the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.

Bettens, 17, is in his rookie season with the Pistons. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound forward has been drawing the attention of NHL scouts, playing for Team West at the CJHL Prospects Game last month. Bettens is one of many MJHL players who have committed to college hockey – having chosen Bemidji State University.

A product of the Winnipeg minor hockey system, Bettens currently has eight goals and 22 points in 29 games.

Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week runners-up are 19-year-old forward Kolten Kanaski of the Virden Oil Capitals and 20 year old goaltender Merek Pipes of the Swan Valley Stampeders.
