Officers with the Dauphin RCMP seized a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and weapons, following two traffic stops over this past weekend.
On March 15, 2019, at 9:10pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Dauphin. The traffic stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 764 grams of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia. As a result, police arrested Steven Gerald Catagas, a 36-year-old male from Grandview, and remanded him into custody on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and for failing to comply with a recognizance.
On March 17, 2019, at 3:40am, officers conducted a traffic stop on 4th Avenue S.E. in Dauphin. This traffic stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 11 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian currency and various weapons, including a conducted energy weapon and a can of bear mace. in this incident, police arrested Preston Rodger Flatfoot, a 29-year-old male from Dauphin, and remanded him into custody on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.
