On October 15, 2016, at approximately 4:15am, Headingley RCMP were on patrol when they saw a vehicle in the north ditch of Roblin Boulevard in the RM of Headingley, Manitoba.

Police say that the 24-year-old male driver had exited the vehicle, but the 25-year-old female passenger was trapped inside and had to be extricated. The passenger was transported to Winnipeg hospital with serious injuries, where she remains in stable condition. Both occupants were from Winnipeg.

Initial police investigation shows that the car was travelling eastbound on Roblin Boulevard when the vehicle hit a driveway approach and flipped into the ditch, hitting a large tree and a light pole.

RCMP report that both occupants were wearing seatbelts and that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident. A Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
