A 48-year-old Winnipeg man has recently died after the car he was driving ran head-on into a semi-trailer in the RM of Macdonald.

On May 2, 2019, at approximately 2:15pm, RCMP responded to a fatal collision between a car and a semi-trailer at a location on Highway 3 and Road 38 NW in the RM of Macdonald. Police investigation determined that a semi-trailer was traveling north on Highway 3, when a southbound car crossed the centre line and collided head-on with the semi-trailer.

RCMP report that the driver and lone occupant of the car, a 48-year-old Winnipeg man, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver and lone occupant of the semi-trailer, a 41-year-old Brandon man, was not injured.

It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision. Headingley RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
