Portage La Prairie RCMP are requesting public assistance in locating a 19-year-old suspect who is wanted in connection to a recent homicide investigation.
On May 20, 2019, at approximately 4:35am, Portage La Prairie RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence located on 1st Street NW in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Police say that a 22-year-old male from Langruth, Manitoba, was shot inside the residence. The victim was brought to hospital with life threatening injuries, but later that day, succumbed to his injuries.
Through investigation, RCMP determined the death to be a homicide.
RCMP report that 19-year-old Laurent Beaulieu is now wanted for second degree murder. Police believe that Beaulieu may be in Portage La Prairie or the surrounding area. He is considered armed and dangerous.
