Earlier this month, Dauphin RCMP responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle collision on Highway 10, approximately two kilometres south of Ethelbert, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation showed that a 14-year-old female ATV rider was traveling south on the east shoulder of Highway 10. It appears she lost control of the ATV, causing it to roll and land on top of her. The girl was not wearing a helmet and she was transported to Dauphin and then Winnipeg hospital.
RCMP report that the incident occurred on October 10, 2016, just before 1pm. On October 16, 2016, the girl died from her injuries.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
