A 15-year-old Oakbank youth has died after his dirt bike collided with a train at a location in the RM of Springfield, Manitoba.
On June 16, 2019, at 5:50pm, officers from the Oakbank RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a dirt bike and a train at the railway crossing situated on Spruce Road, located north of Oakwood Road in the RM of Springfield.
Police investigation has determined that a dirt bike, heading north on Spruce Road and being operated by a 15-year-old male youth from Oakbank, collided into an eastbound train. The rider of the dirt bike was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers from the Oakbank Detachment along with CP Police and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
