A 21-year-old Winkler, Manitoba man is dead after his car was struck by a minivan while exiting a rural driveway on Highway 30.
On June 24, 2019, at approximately 4:45pm, Morden RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 30, one kilometre north of Altona in the RM of Rhineland. Investigators determined that a car, driven by a 21-year-old Winkler man, was leaving a rural driveway and turning onto Highway 30, when he was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound minivan driven by a 35-year-old woman.
Police say that the male driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver of the minivan suffered minor injuries.
RCMP report that drugs, alcohol and speed are not suspected as factors in this collision. Morden RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
