Leaf Rapids RCMP, in response to a report of a missing boater, located a 20-year-old man deceased on South Indian Lake.
On July 25, 2019, at approximately 7:15pm, Leaf Rapids RCMP received a report of a missing boater out on South Indian Lake. Officers were advised that a 20-year-old male, from South Indian Lake, had gone out onto the lake and was believed to be missing as his boat had been located on an isolated shoreline.
Officers, along with local community members, gathered and began searching the lake by boat and by helicopter. On July 27, at 9:45pm, searchers located the body of the 20-year-male in the water where he was pronounced deceased.
Leaf Rapids RCMP along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
