On August 26, 2019, at approximately 4:20pm, Headingley RCMP responded to a collision between a train and a pickup truck on Roblin Boulevard.
Officers have determined that the pickup truck, being driven by a 75-year-old male with a 65-year-old female passenger, both from the RM of Headingley, was traveling east on Roblin Boulevard when it was struck by a northbound train at a location between Alboro Street and PR 334.
Police say that the impact caused the vehicle to be pushed along the tracks onto the train bridge over the Assiniboine River.
RCMP report that both the male driver and female passenger of the truck were pronounced deceased on scene.
