Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a recent house fire that occurred on McKenzie Avenue is being investigated as arson.
On September 9, 2019, at approximately 7pm, Steinbach RCMP, along with the Steinbach Fire Department and EMS, responded to a house fire situated at 277 McKenzie Avenue in Steinbach.
Police say that smoke could be seen coming out of all windows and doors of the home. Steinbach Fire Department managed to extinguish the fire with the building still remaining standing.
Investigation has revealed that the fire most likely started in the basement and arson is suspected. There were no tenants residing in the residence at the time of the incident.
RCMP report that no estimate of damage is available at this time.
