On October 28, 2016, at approximately 9:20pm, Brandon RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway at Provincial Road 101 West in the RM of Cornwallis, Manitoba.
Police say that a westbound pickup truck collided with the back of a semi-trailer that had turned into the westbound land of the Trans-Canada Highway. The driver of the pickup truck, a 27-year-old Brandon man, was deceased on scene. The semi driver, a 45-year-old man from Newdale, Manitoba, was uninjured.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision and that both drivers were wearing seatbelts in this incident.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
