A 63-year-old Ste. Anne man has recently died after being struck by a vehicle at a location on Road 52 North in the RM of Tache.
On October 4, 2019, at 8:10pm, officers from the Steinbach RCMP received a report of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian. The incident occurred at the intersection of Highway 12 and Road 52 North, located in the RM of Tache.
Investigation has determined that an SUV, being driven by a 34-year-old male from the RM of Ste. Anne, was traveling south on Highway 12 when it struck a 63-year-old male from the RM of Tache. Officers noted that the 63-year-old man was walking north in the southbound lane.
Police say that the driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and immediately called 911.
The 63-year-old was pronounced deceased on scene and no other injuries were reported.
RCMP report that alcohol is not a factor in the collision and that Steinbach RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionists continue to investigate this incident.
