Sprague RCMP recently responded to a serious collision between a pickup truck and car that occurred just north of Piney, Manitoba.
At approximately 10:40pm on October 8, 2019, Sprague RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 12, approximately 10 minutes north of Piney, Manitoba.
Police believe the incident to be a head-on collision between a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and 1999 Toyota Camry.
Investigation revealed that the driver of the Dodge Ram, a 27-year-old Winnipeg man, collided with the Camry, driven by a 37-year-old woman from the Sprague area. The Camry was engulfed in flames when Fire Department and police arrived. Police noted that the female driver was located outside of her vehicle and was being assisted by a passerby.
Sprague RCMP stated that the neither of the drivers suffered life-threatening injuries, however, the female driver was transported to hospital. Due to the collision, the female’s service dog did not make it out of the vehicle alive.
RCMP report that alcohol was a factor in this collision and that the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of a Traffic Analyst.
