Manitoba RCMP are searching for two adults and two youth hunters that are reported to be in the Mosquito Lake area.
On October 15, 2019, at approximately 7:10pm, RCMP received a report of four overdue hunters. The hunters were described as two adults and two youths, 16 and 12 years of age, and all from God’s River.
Police say that the hunters were in the area of Mosquito Lake, also known as Clifford Reid Lake, and had been dropped off on October 8, 2019. They were scheduled to be picked up on October 11, however due to poor weather, the chartered float plane was unable to land on the lake.
There are concerns that the hunters only brought enough food for their intended 3-day trip and that they are sleeping in tents as there are no cabins in the area. RCMP are preparing to conduct a search today with a helicopter.
RCMP Search and Rescue have been notified along with the Canadian military.
