On November 4, 2016, at approximately 11:10 am, Thompson RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Thompson Drive South and Mystery Lake Road in Thompson, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation showed that a car traveling south on Mystery Lake Road collided with a pickup truck making a left hand turn from Thompson Drive South onto Mystery Lake Road. The intersection is controlled by lights.
Police say that there were four occupants in the southbound car. A 57-year-old male passenger from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, Manitoba was deceased on scene. All other occupants of the car were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. An adult female and a child, who were in the pickup truck, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the Criminal Crash Investigation Team are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
