A 24-year-old Winnipeg man has recently died after the vehicle he was driving collided with an SUV in the RM of Springfield.
On October 22, 2019, at approximately 4pm, Oakbank and Beausejour RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of PR 206 and PR 213 (Garven Road), in the RM of Springfield.
Police say that an SUV, traveling south on PR 206, collided with a vehicle traveling east on PR 213.
The driver and sole occupant of the eastbound vehicle, a 24-year-old male from Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, an 18-year-old female from the RM of Springfield, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision.
Oakbank RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
